Meet our Doctors

  • Jared Martin
    DMD

'Don't I know you from somewhere??' This is a question that Dr. Martin gets asked all the time! His friendly face seems familiar to most, even for those who have just met him.

Dr. Martin grew up just a stone’s throw away from Homedale in Parma. During his high school years, he was actively involved in FFA, baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, and choir. After graduating from Parma High School, Dr. Martin attended the University of Idaho as a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He completed his degree in finance at Boise State, where he served as student body senator and chief of staff.

Dr. Martin attended the prestigious University of Louisville School of dentistry where he served as class president all four years. While in dental school, he was also the recipient of The Outstanding Graduate Award for his outstanding leadership and service and the AHEC Kentucky Offsite Clinical-Community Service Scholarship. This award was given to Dr. Martin for providing dental care for underserved communities in southern Kentucky.

Since graduation, Dr. Martin has been proudly serving our country in the United States Navy. This has allowed him to work intimately across multiple specialties and stay current on the latest dental techniques and technologies. Aboard the USS Pearl Harbor LSD 52, Dr. Martin’s deployment was in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. He was a department head as the ship's only dentist and received the Navy/Marine Corp Commendation Medal. Getting to explore the world was one of the added benefits of being in the Navy, with a deployment to the Middle East which included port calls in Hawaii, Singapore, Goa, Dubai, and Akaba. He loved the opportunity to serve our amazing country while on active duty and continues to do so in the reserves. After his last 7-month deployment and with his family growing, he knew it was time to come home.

Dr. Martin met his college sweetheart at U of I, Lindsey, and they have been married for nearly 20 years. They have two young sons, Ashton 5 and Gavin 2, with a third baby boy, Brayden, on the way this summer. When Dr. Martin is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family on outdoor adventures, including camping, fishing and hiking in and around Idaho. Dentistry was not Dr. Martin's initial career path but has quickly become his calling in life! His background in construction provided me with the hand skills, material knowledge and managerial techniques to thrive in the industry I so love. His work started in construction management but the great recession had other plans for him. Dr. Martin was given a forced opportunity to make a lifelong dream come to fruition. Now, instead of building homes, he builds smiles for those in our community. Dr. Martin has developed a deep empathy for his patients and an altruistic approach to dentistry. He treats every patient as if they are his own family.

  • William Jeppe, DMD

Don’t be surprised when you come for your first appointment with Dr. Jeppe if it feels like you just sat down with a good friend for a visit. That’s what Dr. Jeppe feels about all his patients — that they are good friends who he also happens to serve with exceptional dental care.

Dr. William Jeppe of Owyhee Family Dental grew up in Hermiston, Oregon. He attended Blue Mountain and Grey Eagle Community Colleges then attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He then came back to Oregon and completed two bachelors degrees at the University of Oregon in Eugene followed by this Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

Dr. Jeppe chose dentistry as a career because of his genuine interest in people and a desire to improve their health while alleviating unnecessary discomfort for his patients. Dentistry provided a wonderful environment to work with people one-on-one and become an integral part of their health and their lives.

Homedale has been home for Dr. Jeppe since 1979. He has been married to his wife Michelle, who is one of Owyhee Family Dental’s hygienists, for 28 years. Their greatest joys in life are their two sons, Cole and Reed. After one year at BSU Cole is preparing to attend a Power Sports program this Fall at CWI. Reed is a student at Idaho State University’s Pre-Pharmacy program. He is also a member of the ISU track team.

Dr. Jeppe also has four adult children from a previous marriage: Janine, Guy, Garrett and Ben. Together Dr. Jeppe and Michelle are the grandparents of 8 grandchildren – 2 girls and 6 boys.

Dentistry has provided Dr. Jeppe with a meaningful and enjoyable career which has allowed him to be part of the community in Owyhee County. It has also been the springboard to his other passion: hunting and fishing. When away from the office you can often find Dr. Jeppe out and about with his two English Pointer hunting dogs, Abby and Jasper.

If you’re not already a patient and are looking for a dentist who is more than just an exceptional dentist, call Dr. Jeppe at Owyhee Family Dental. When you come to visit you’ll immediately be welcomed as part of the Owyhee Family Dental “family”.
